Diagnosed, but unmedicated due to brain trauma

Hey everyone! I’m going to give a pretty in depth rundown here of my medical history, in an attempt to sort it all out. In summation, I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, but my PCP has yet to medicate me due to an old head injury.

-31, female

-ADHD diagnosed by psychologist

-high IQ with high scoring memory recall, vocabulary, etc; but experience a very low score with verbal communication, especially when explaining terms “layman,” which indicates brain trauma

-ADHD symptoms typically vary from restless brain, perfectionism, hyper-focus, inability to focus, the usual

-Medicated with Zoloft in fall of 2021, and since stopped due to experiencing panic attacks on meds

-3 traumatic head injuries in the past. (At 15, car accident. At 19, stuck in the face 2-3 times, lost consciousness. At 23, struck in the face.)

-Always experienced lightheadedness, possibly due to low-blood pressure. Never found diagnosis by doctors over 10 years.

-First syncope at 9 or 10

-Increase syncope episodes in early adult life

-First vasovagal seizure at 21, second at 28, third at 29 (all during medical procedures, while awake)

-Constant ringing in ears, minor vibration in left ear after loud db for one hour. No hearing loss, ear damage, etc

Once I received my ADHD diagnosis, I went to my PCP, and he said he would absolutely not medicate me until I saw a neurologist. I had an EEG done, but have yet to receive the results. I assume that if it was urgent, they would’ve called already. I have a lot of testing coming up (don’t worry, I already hit my out of pocket this year, so it’s free! Yippee!!). Basically, my doctor is concerned about medicating me when seizures are on the table. He’s being very cautious, which I appreciate, but it still is somewhat frustrating.

Is anyone in the same boat? Can anyone just make me feel a little better? Any words of advice?
