AIO fiancé advised a friend to gain respect through abuse

Let me start off by saying, my fiancé has never been physically abusive to me. Recently, we had a conversation where he was telling me that a friend was complaining that his girl didn’t respect him. Fiancés’ comment was “once a woman loses respect for you, you really only have one option and no one wants to get physical so best to just leave.” I was super shocked at his advice and told him that advocating physical violence is never ok. After arguing that’s not what he said, he finally boiled over and yelled at me “fine maybe I did say it, I don’t care if he beats that bitches ass!” I hung up the phone and have distanced myself for a day or so. He doesn’t understand why I am mad over a theoretical situation that doesn’t even involve us. AIO?
