If Trump wins the 2024 election, what should Democrats do differently to win in 2028?

And please, don’t just say “Trump won’t allow a 2028 election to happen”. Let’s assume that the absolute worst-case scenario does NOT happen.

If Trump wins the 2024 election, who should Democrats choose as their candidate for 2028? Should they become more strict on illegal immigration? Should they focus on issues like abortion where Democrats are favoured? Should they continue as they are now, or take a radically different approach?
