WM Father of 20yr old seeking advice

Hello! My son hasn’t had a haircut in several years (probably since ‘21) and I’m looking to get him a passport so we can travel. He likes his hair long. Has no interest in cutting his hair shorter. I want him to be on his best foot for the photo, so maybe at least get the ends trimmed? Recent photos attached. Suggestions from “leave him be” to full-on style advice welcomed!
