What's the interaction between the Drunk and Mathematician?

If there was, say a Soldier who got attacked by the demon and died because they were actually the Drunk, would this count as an instance of an ability working abnormally? Or would it not count because the Drunk doesn't actually have the Soldier ability, therefore it can't malfunction?
