Scarred From Date

Went on a date with a 23F from Brazil who was in Dallas. She seemed super kind and genuine. Was so odd to me but I had to jump through some hoops to make her family feel comfortable.

After jumping through additional hoops and rescheduling we finally meet at a sushi restaurant. Towards the end of the date I see too older ladies headed to our table who had been sitting there eating. It was her aunt in cousin she was visiting essentially chaperoning a date.

She was telling my date it was getting ready time to leave. The whole thing made me so uncomfortable. Mind you she is 23 years old. I didn’t want to be rude since I liked the girl a bit and asked if they wanted to sit.

The aunt and cousin both sit down and immediately turn it from a casual conversation to an interrogation to verify I’m not a human trafficker. Was the most embarrassing moment of my life. They were not quiet at all. And people around us were glancing over. I fielded a lot of the questions but never felt so belittled in my life. Be careful out there folks.

Despite all this I liked the girl enough to pursue. Eventually she ended up ghosting a few weeks later. Annoyed me that she said she was the one that was traumatized. I was legit sitting in a booth with 3 strangers who were all adults. And then 2 of them turned it into a 30 question 30min interview and interrogation. I’m done dating I think.

TLDR: Girls family was unknowingly chaperoning date. Then turned on me after I was trying to be nice and meet for casual conversation. They hijacked it and decided to interview and interrogate me in a public restaurant. Explicitly said they thought I might be a human trafficker….Girl didn’t really apologize and said she was the one traumatized…I’m done dating forever
