Buying car interstate to Perth
Hi there,
Was hoping to get some clarity and advice on the best way to get a car registered in WA from QLD (and I live in Sydney). Full story is I got a job in Perth that includes a relocation of a car. I've found a very neat 2012 Renault Megane RS265 in Brisbane that I am close to purchasing. I won't be able to see the car so I am sending a mobile car inspector (state roads) to inspect it. The seller has stated the car will come with an RWC. It is then going to be deregistered and shipped via rail by Ceva to Perth, where it needs to get registered with WA plates. My questions are as follows:
- what is required to get an RWC?
- when it lands in Perth, how do I go about getting it registered? Can I get around with no plates until it's resolved?
- I understand I have to "go over the pits" but what does this mean in practical terms? I guess there is a possibility the car won't pass, will the RWC be of any use here?
- whats the rego process annually after that (pink slip etc)
- any other tips or advice?
Cheers
