What’s your cooking related Achilles heel?
Mine is rice. I just can’t cook it right, ever. Even when I follow the instructions, I cannot help but get overcooked mush or crunchy, undercooked grains! I always defer to my SO for rice making, and it always turns out ok.
What’s something you make that always goes wrong, or you just can’t quite get?
EDIT: Thank you for all the suggestions, but I will not be buying a rice cooker- I cannot justify the money and space in my kitchen!
EDIT THE SECOND: Even if I’m not necessarily ready for a rice cooker, others may be genuinely interested in one, so keep the suggestions coming! If you have a specific model you SWEAR BY, let the people know!
FINAL EDIT: Take note at how many different and unique ways we’ve all concocted to cook rice, poach eggs, or improve any number of skills we have troubles with- thanks everyone for being so generous with your responses! They remind me that cooking is a process, and no one ever gets everything right all the time :)
