I just finished crocheting sweater out of acrylic yarn, but I need to block it still. Any tips on how to make it more “flowy” and less bulky?
I’m crocheting a sweater with 100% acrylic Red Heart Supersaver yarn. (Not a favorite I know) The last time I crocheted a sweater out of acrylic yarn, I put it in the wash with detergent and fabric softener and let it air dry. This time, I want it to come out as flowy and “drapy” (I guess?) as possible. It’s a bit oversized and I want it to look like a sweater that someone would wear and not something people look at and are like “that’s kind of ugly” just because of how it fits, but I’m not sure this is possible because of the yarn I used. Anyway, I need tips on how to get as close as I can to that end result. Do I put it in the was again? Do I hand wash it? Do I use fabric softener? Will it shrink if I put it in the dryer? Literally any help would be amazing.
