What the hell is this?
Denton ISD wants you to obtain an Associate's Degree and acquire an Paraprofessional Certification for not even $23k a year? Sure, it's an Aide position but this is basically poverty wages. This is unacceptable! This position should be paying ATLEAST $30k a year. I can understand a smaller district with way less funding offering this, but Denton? This is highway robbery and it's sickening that our leadership intentionally cuts funding and wages.
For all the teachers that lurk and post here, I'm really sorry! I may have not been the best student in my high school and college days but I'm smart enough to realize now how thankless, grueling and downright demoralizing this profession can be. How can you get the very best out of your staff when they're also stressed about affording food and shelter? It's simply not fair. It may not be a surprise to some here but I want to spread awareness, this just makes me sick seeing this.
