Does anybody actually like the floaty jump height mechanic?
This has popped up a few times now :
- Dares of Eternity ("Quickness" pick-up)
- Defiant Battlegrounds (Favors of Zeal pick-up)
- Built-in to the Amplified buff
It doesn't make me feel "quick" or powerful - if anything it makes me slow down, so I don't overshoot jumps I normally wouldn't, or clip into a ceiling that grinds me to a halt/makes me plummet to my death.
In Dares and Battlegrounds it's whatever, but having it built-in to Arc is just... annoying? It seems like somebody decided this was fun thing that everybody likes, so they keep rolling it out.
Just wondering if there are actually some floaty jump height stans out there, or if most people feel the same way?
Edit - So it seems there are a few floaty stans out there, but a lot of people have similar frustrations with this mechanic.
For me, I'd rather my jump was just consistent. I play on all 3 classes and each jump has it's own feel that I'm used to. This game generally nails the flow of controlling your character, but getting the Amplified buff generally just feels awkward and disruptive.
Plus there's no real benefit to it other than... "wowowow BIG JUMPING"... I guess?
There's some occasional moments where I enjoy bounding across some open terrain, but most of the time it's just something I have to deal with, or try to avoid
