What do you love about this work?
I know it’s so challenging and frustrating and difficult to do what we do… but I’m also so grateful that I get to do this as a career. What about y’all? What parts of this job do you love and makes you happy?
I’m so grateful for these children, how much they lift my spirits, how much i learn from them, and that i get to model being a good friend to them. I love that I can help them regulate their emotions, and give them language to express what they’re feeling and what is happening. Most of all, I love how silly they all are and that I can laugh with and (respectfully) at the silly things they do.
I also love the part that can be stressful and time consuming like documenting their developmental milestones, and creating curriculum based on their interests, and the “administrative” part of this job.
Learning about child development, early childhood education, and “gentle parenting” healed my inner child before I started doing this as a career, and being in class with them is such a gift.
Anyways, I hope you share your joys 😊 (cause hell we know how hard it can be and we need a balance of appreciation and complaining 🤣)
