testosterone appetite

TW eating disorder (recovery)

When my brother was in high school he’d get home from baseball practice, make and eat two sandwiches and/or any unclaimed leftovers, go do his homework, and then come out and eat three people’s worth of dinner two hours later. I watched him eat an entire tray of lasagna and then be back in the kitchen later that evening making scrambled eggs. I get it now. Holy shit do I get it.

Two weeks ago I was trying to recover from a restrictive eating disorder I’ve struggled with for years. Testosterone appetite hit me on Tuesday. I have not skipped a single meal, have not passed up food in favor of a nap or because I “didn’t feel like eating” and wasn’t hungry enough to do anything about it, and have stuffed my backpack with granola bars to eat while I’m out between meals. This is INSANE. I got up in the middle of night and had a handful of lunch meat out of the fridge because I was so hungry it woke me up. I’ve only been on T a month! Is it going to be this crazy for the whole muscle growth/weight shifting phase, or will it level out sooner than that?
