Sore calves every morning
Hi! I wake up every morning with sore, tight, stiff calves. A few months ago, my feet were also hurting in the morning, but that has mostly resolved. Eventually the soreness goes away, but it takes a few hours. My feet are occasionally mildly sore throughout the day as well. This all makes me think that something is off, but I’m not really sure how to trouble shoot.
Backstory: I am a stay at home mom who has been barefoot at home for 6+ years. In 2020 I realized I hardly ever wore shoes and saw that as a great time to transition my closet to barefoot shoes. This whole process was pain free until the past year. I wear birks when out and about, but 80% or more of my time is spent either barefoot or in barefoot shoes.
This is the first time I’ve had any kind of foot pain. I have a 9 month old, so I know there may be some hormones at play too. My lifestyle hasn’t changed other than adding another kiddo to tend to. While I don’t “work out” often, I am very active and on my feet most of the day. 3 active kiddos, a home to manage, and meals to cook = lots and lots of functional activity.
Have no idea if it could be relevant, but I get restless legs at night being up with the baby, so I use magnesium lotion on my calves and feet.
I watched the pinned videos and will continue with the foot exercises and hip CAR’s, but I’m wondering if there is something else I can do or look for. I’ve searched Reddit and Google a ton on this, but still at a bit of a loss. Thank you!
