how accurate is the speed in FH5?

I'm always curious about this in racing games, since I just assume the more arcade like a racing game is the more they exaggerate your speed. so, if I took a known car length, and mathed out all the distances and times and stuff, would the speedometer reading I'm given still be accurate?
