Computer comparison

I put the dots on the pictures to show what goes with what, just in case anyone was wondering.

I was wondering if either of these computers are good for gaming (I mostly play Minecraft heavily modded, including running a modded server off my computer) or sims with lots of DLC and custom content/mods.

If these both suck, please let me know a good brand. I'll look for refurbished or sales, but I'd like to keep under $1,000 because my last computer that costed more than that died right away but my old $500 laptop still runs (just not well enough to play games, unfortunately. It's very old)

I don't really understand much about computers, I just know I should have at least 16GB ram. So if anyone could even just (very simply) explain the other things I'd appreciate that too. Thanks :)
