How often do you guys play with your hog?

I've got a hog, his names Russell. I find it hard to play with him as he really just wants to go back in his pouch and sleep. Most interactions have been his routine cleaning, the occasional take out if the pouch and see how he's doing, and filling food and water. Hedgehogs are naturally anti social, but am I leaving him too isolated?
