Did you do a DET (double embryo transfer) and why?

I am SUPER tempted to do a DET.

So I looked into it. It's generally not advised because 1. the goal is a healthy baby and 2. there are risks with twins and 3. there is a slightly higher chance of natural twins anyway and 4. my specialist says twins "strain relationships".

But it's a common request because 1. age and tired of trying over and over and 2. people seem to think it increases the odds.

Here's why I'd like to try it (I hinted at it in my last post) -

Twins run in my family. I am not a twin myself but my mum is a twin and her mum was a twin too. Both sets not identical (meaning it was a double egg cycle, not a split embryo). Being PCOS, I cannot release eggs naturally anyway, let alone two at once, BUT in the many scans I have done, it's been noted that my uterus is naturally large and very healthy.
On his last and (somewhat strange) point, hubby and I have never argued over our 15 years together and are a super strong team. This might sound like I am tooting my own horn but we are on the same page with almost everything. On this topic, he is happy with whatever we do.
So I question if I am an exception to the specialist's rules and able to try it.

Now if one of the embryos fails and we end up with a pregnancy of one then I am happy still. If they are the same gender, that's completely fine. Even with the slightly increased odds and we end up with triplets, I will accept that and love each one.

We haven't started any transfer cycles yet but an obvious risk is that you go through your frozen embryos twice as fast but I am not sure of other factors involved. It's tempting speaking of reserves to only do one at a time to increase chances of a healthy baby but I am so so tempted to try it.

Did you do a DET? Do you have twins from a DET or from one? Why did you decide to do a DET? I'd love to hear a few stories.

I appreciate the time it took to read my post and for your reply.
