Advice on how to move forward with illustrations :)

So for a while I’ve been doing little doodles of fairy/pixie kind of characters. Not taking it too seriously, just for fun. But I want to try and improve them, particularly by including a body (instead of just the face). I’m not really used to drawing bodies, it makes me a bit apprehensive because I don’t know where to start. Any tips? Also any tips to improve the general quality of drawings.
