Beware of Padhega India’s Shady Practices

I was on a social media detox and had deleted my previous Reddit account. But after this experience, I had to come back just to post this rant. So, before anyone thinks this is a made-up story because it’s my only post—trust me, it’s not.

I ordered a book from Padhega India after seeing fellow redditors posts praising their customer support and stuffs like that. The book was marked in stock, and they don’t even allow payments for out-of-stock items,so I assumed everything was fine.

Fast forward: No shipping update. I emailed them, only to learn the book is actually out of stock, and they’re still waiting for a copy from the publisher. They might send it after Tuesday if they even get it.

Frustrated, I decided to cancel, but then came the real shocker, their refund policy. 25-28 days to process a refund? In 2025? Are we in the stone age? Any decent platform processes refunds in a week, max. But here’s the catch: if you choose their wallet, you get the money in 2 days. So basically, they hold your money hostage to force you into their ecosystem.

If a book is out of stock, just say so. Why take payments for something you don’t even have? This is nothing but unethical business disguised as "Indic bookselling." If you’re planning to order from them, think twice.

Has anyone else faced the same issue?

Edit: After all this hassle, Padhega India finally issued my refund.Just putting this out here for closure. Lesson learnt. ✌🏽
