JC penny prices

Small rant here but why is JC penny so expensive? I’ve been there twice and the prices have appalled me. Firstly they force you to pay more for getting a singular item. I just want one article of clothing not two Mr. Penny. I say that because it seems like more of there promotions are centered around getting 2 or more items, which is isn’t fair for price conscious shoppers.

To get some context my local J.C penny was charging $120 for two pairs of Levi’s jeans while $90 for one pair. In what world do Levi’s go for almost $100?

This one is my fault because I read the promotion which is partially there’s two as it wasn’t very clear but:

1 pair of work trousers are $80, 2 for $80. Again I need only one pair!!! This just proves they can sell one pair for $40 as referenced by the promotion but no…. That’s ridiculous and I don’t really think any price conscious shoppers thinks they are really saving money by shopping here.

I can get the same items online for less why would I spend that much for 1 item? I’m not about to be trapped by America’s overconsumption lifestyle. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had similar experiences at stores like J.C penny because I shouldn’t be punished for wanting less, if anything I should be rewarded for being sane. Most clothes tend to not fit after a while why would I spend so much money for more clothes that will probably be donated at the end of the year when I could pay less for one item.
