What are your (TOS abiding) controversial takes on JAI?

No kinkshaming and don’t be rude (and try to not take it personally if some random on the internet doesn’t like something you personally do!)

Here are mine:

  • unless a bot has original lore (i.e isn’t just a generic fantasy or modern setting) it doesn’t need to be over 1000 perm tokens. Too many creators bloat their bots because of the misconception that more tokens = better bot.

  • promoting yourself in threads and promo channels on discord is pointless unless you’re also talking to people and engaging with the community. If you don’t show interest in other people’s work, how can you expect others to show interest in yours?

  • pretty profiles and bot descriptions DO matter. It’s the packaging of your content. Even if your stuff is really good, most people will take only a few seconds to assess whether or not they want to click on it. I’m not saying you need to do a crazy amount of extra images and a novel in the description, but basic formatting (line breaks! Use em!) is important.
