Not all of us are femboys
Just responding to an upticked trend I'm noticing lately:
Anybody else feel like the femboy surge is impeding on their identity a little? Not even tryna talk shit, cuz like I am ALL ABOUT people feeling good and empowered in their identity and figuring out what that means for them.
The difficulty for me arises when (mostly cis) people start referring to non-masc identifying transfems (like myself and others I know) as femboys and such. Like yo, there are femboys, and they are dope humans just like everyone else, but not all transfems are femboys. Some of us actually feel kinda dysphoric and invalidated by that title. It reminds me of how some cis people refer to some NB folks as "themgirls" and crap like that; super invalidating for those that don't align with it, and potentially an alienating experience.
Anyway, that's my little rant. Curious about what others' thoughts are, ideas for navigating this moving forward, and so on.
Love you femboys, just tired of feeling misgendered by people who make assumptions 😖
EDITS: Minor grammar/spelling Will continue to discuss in comments, but I realize I really should have titled this "The Vast Majority of Transfems Are Not Femboys" or something of the likening 😅
