Linkin Park Leave Out All The Rest

Leave Out All The Rest is my favorite Linkin Park song. It's one of many Linkin Park songs you can relate to. It's one of those songs I can sing my heart out to.

I have listened to the words I got one of my favorite lines wrong for years

"Forgetting All the hurt inside you've learned to hide so well Pretending Someone else can come and save me from myself I can't be who you are"

I thought "Someone else can come" was someone else can't come. Simple mistake. But I can't rap my head around it. In this verse how would can and can't change the meaning?

Can come, suggesting you don't think others can help you?

Can't come, suggesting you now others can help but won't let them?

In terms of Chester's over all mental state it seems like he felt only he could help himself.

That aside I can't separate can from can't in this verse.
