Blow out puffy

Whenever I blowout my hair it comes out puffy! I would like for it to be sleek but that never works. What am I doing wrong? I used a heat protectant, then a round brush, then a little serum and I used a denman brush and a blow dryer to get it more straight but it didn’t work. Would be nice if people black people could answer only
