[QCrit] Psychological Thriller - READ BETWEEN THE LINES - (71k, 2nd attempt)
Hi All,
Here's my second try with this query. Any feedback is appreciated. Just to note, I know one of my comp tittles is ten years old. But the vibe of that really matches with my novel. If anyone can suggest recent titles, I would really appreciate it.

Rumi’s diary has gone missing, along with her friend Aisha. And she is desperate to find both.
You see, Rumi has a secret. A dark desire that she has written down in the pages of her notebook. It has consumed her thoughts, taken over her life until she met Aisha. Together, they have a plan. A plan to kill Rumi’s cheating husband, Sandy. But now both have disappeared, which puts Rumi in a tricky situation.
Soon, she starts seeing a blue Mercedes on her daily commute. First few days, she doesn’t think anything of it. But it starts popping up everywhere she goes, following her to the restaurant, to her office, to her home. Everywhere.
Rumi starts to panic. Is someone after her? It’s possible. Why else would they be trailing her? Maybe someone knows her plans. They have taken out Aisha and now it’s her turn. A frantic Rumi reaches out to a PI for help. What she finds out unsettles her even more.
Sandy’s car was there at the hotel where Aisha has been staying. And it was there the very night she disappeared. It can’t be a coincidence. He must be involved. Rumi's suspicion turns into a shocking reality when Sandy tries to smother her with a pillow. She barely escapes with her life and pounds on the neighbor’s door for help. The door opens, and it’s Aisha, standing in flesh. She chloroforms Rumi and drags her inside, never to be seen again.
All this time, Aisha has been in hiding. She wants something in Rumi’s diary desperately. But is she willing to kill for it? Who is the predator and who is the prey in this cat-and-mouse game?
READ BETWEEN THE LINES is a psychological thriller of 71,000 words that will appeal to the fans of morally grey protagonists of THE KIND WORTH KILLING by Peter Swanson and the unreliable narrator vibes of Lisa Jewell’s NONE OF THIS IS TRUE.
