Vanity Fair Article

In the Vanity Fair article, Ben Stiller says the following.

Stiller***:*** When [season one] came out, it was fun to look at all of the reactions and how people would kind of dig into theories. We wanted to pick up the story where it left off. We’re bringing the Innies to the Outie world and then will answer some questions by the end of the season. Hopefully we keep it enough of a mystery and intriguing enough that people want to keep following the story.

We have been speculating for a while that Petey wanted to let them know that they could use a faraday cage to get escape as an Innie.

This was the note that Petey left in the handbook Mark was reading the script from during Helly's orientation. We see Mark take off the sticky note and put it in his pocket.

Page 19 - is the page the script is on when the new employee asks to leave 3 times and where Helly walks out by the stairwell and Milchek sends her back in.

Mr Reynolds - Aluminum foil can be used to created a faraday cage to block the signal to the chip. The innies probably can find aluminum, copper or some other metal they can use.

Flame Retardant - there is a fire extinguisher by that exit. Maybe he means to create a distraction by pulling the alarm. Or using the extinguisher to block the emp or sonic wave that causes the switch to flip.

Coil - Could refer to the device that delivers the electromagnetic pulse or sonar wave that flips the switch

Long Way home - Take that exit to escape. We know that the chips are switched there also. Or at least they are made to work that way on the day of the orientation. But, maybe this exit is preferable because it isn't being monitored. We know there is someone at the desk at the regular elevator exit. And also it could be because they could pull the fire alarm for a distraction. There was a fire alarm around the time that Petey went rogue.

Once they are out, the Innies could leave notes for the Outies and communicate with them that way and come up with a plan. In Mark's case, he could talk with Devon. If the Innies want to switch back, they could just go back to Lumen without the faraday cage. This is assuming the chip is a boolean switch. and doesn't specifically switch to Innie or Outie.

Anyway, this is going to really interesting. Having the Innies being able to leave Lumon takes the power away from the Outie. Innies and Outies are going to be on equal footing and is that going to create a power struggle? Or will they have the same goal of taking down Lumon? And Helly's Outie is a wild card. oHelly can't just go missing. If iHelly can't do a convincing job of being oHelly, they are going to all be caught.
