How do I deal with the overwhelming amount of content for TFD endgame?

I recently just finished the story after 80 hours on the game I understand the fundamentals and basics. However I’m overwhelmed by all these build guides and farming reactors here getting the external components, Boss builds. It’s so much I’m not sure where to start I don’t even have ultimate descendants yet I have 6 descendants right now I only use 4 of them Viessa is my strongest descendants. She’s the only one with a transcendent module as well. Should I start there getting transcendent modules? And getting Ultimate descendants? Also are their external components that can boost getting certain items from missions? Or is it purely RNG? Any other advice would be grateful
