High BP or lasting white coat? 27M healthy lifestyle.
Hi all,
I recently was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and have been prescribed low dose stimulant medication. I have pretty bad health anxiety and in the past my BP was a “problem”. I put “problem” in quotes because I always hear “you don’t have high blood pressure you’re just stressed”. Which is true. Whenever I put that cuff on I’m freaking out internally. I dread taking my BP and I always fear the result. Well recently I picked up a monitor and took my first reading in a few weeks about 30 mins after waking, before eating:
153/83 137/78 128/73 143/71 118/70 123/69 125/65
I feel like I just take readings until it’s something I’m satisfied with. I’m so discouraged that it takes 6 readings to get to a nearly normal number. I do intense cardio 3x weekly, lift 1-2x weekly, eat clean most days (lean protein, rice/potato/WG bread, veggies, fruits are 90% of my diet) don’t drink, I dry herb vape a little weed every day (.1-.2g), but am I seriously going to have to cut all “fun” out of my life to get this down? I’m 27. I’m not getting on BP meds. So frustrated.
Thoughts on my readings? High BP? Fear of high BP? Anyone in a similar spot with advice?
