How tight should bearing support bracket be?
First time working with a 4 speed, have the bike stripped to frame and getting ready to build. Running an open primary so I got a bearing support bracket. This one is vtwin, and I used the newish seeming bearing I already had. Had to really whack it in.
When I had the trans pulled without the bracket, I could very easily spin the main shaft by hand. Now with it installed, I can't spin it by hand at all, I kind of can the sprocket. Seems like the shaft is bound or the gears are compressed on the shaft. However, the kicker still moves both quite easily. Is that how it's supposed to be?
Also I don't remember the shaft poking out that far out of the front where the clutch hub attaches...am I crazy?
Thanks wizards.
