Is Death Note the perfect anime for someone just getting into anime?

Or for someone who would’ve normally watch anime? It’s not too loud and OTT like many anime can be. The storyline is interesting. It’s well paced, not too fast or too slow. The characters are likeable, L is like the ultimate comfort character. It’s not overly violent or childish either.

If I were introducing a friend to anime, Death Note would definitely be where I would start.
