Could be quitting coffee helpful for me?
It seems like a rethotical question since I post in a sub about quitting caffeine. However I want to know if it's worth for my case to try to quit for a while. I don't think coffee is a huge issue/addiction of mine, nor I expect to be a life changing thing If I succeed quitting, just want to know who has been in a similar situation and what benefit gained after.
Im 28 and started drinking at 19 with one cup a day at average, then slowly increased through the years to 2 cups and nowadays Im at almost at 3 cups a day (depending on the day). Im sure I've build some sort of dependence... Can I skip a cup of coffee if I want? Of course I can, but yes it's not effortless.
First thing is coffee DOESN'T affect my sleeping, really, I can drink one at 10pm and then go sleep at midnight and I'll fall asleep quickly as I always use to do. I consider the problem is more about my mental reaction. Seems to me like I can't get motivated to do anything unless I drink a coffee, it brings me enthusiasm... but at the same time is something very transitory and difficult to exploit. Also some times it doesn't even work... Like Im about to drink my coffee and I expect it to magically give me motivation but not always it does. I also notice the fact that If I don't drink any coffee in the morning, then it's going to be a "bad" morning... Like I got the feeling of a pointless day ahead of me, with my motivation under the ground and constant tiredness. Another thing is, sorry for sounding rude, but coffee makes me horny... And sometimes it can be very distracting and makes me not focus on the right stuff. For this reasons I think probably by quitting I may break a bad cycle...
