How to remove voicemails from being in the "recent" tab?

I hate this update changed this. I never need to see recent voicemails, as no one leaves voicemails since 2014 or so. Now it take an additional click just to see more than 5 recent phone calls. Is there any way to do this? It's bad enough I now have to press the tiny phone icon next to the call listing instead of just pressing on who called.
