Did my emergency contraceptive fail?

I had what I think was a period (normal length just kinda on the light side) 12/30, had a condom mishap 1/15, took emergency contraceptive 1/17, got a positive pregnancy test today after spotting for 3-4 days does that mean I was already pregnant? Did my take action fail? WTF is happening? 😭
