What emulated games play best?

I'm impatiently awaiting delivery of my GCloud from Amazon and my immediate interest is to set up retro emulation.

So for 8 and 16 bit we know it's gonna be whatever you want. But what games in the extreme end of capability are gonna be good/acceptable/great. I mean PS2/Gamecube levels of tech.

What's your experience with emulating games on those levels of console and what games should I looks at as 'ready to play'?

I'll be streaming from Xbox cloud once I get it too so I can stay relevant to my kid in gaming world. (Don't suppose it runs Minecraft?)
