Vincent Van Gogh was actually MURDERED!!!

Per legends, it is widely believed that Vincent Willem Van Gogh committed suicide at the age of 37 due to his mental instability. But, for all we know this might be farthest from the truth.

A popular theory proposed by Steven Naifeh and Gregory White Smith, the duo who penned Van Gogh’s biography suggests that it might actually not be Van Gogh who’d shot himself in the abdomen but rather two young teens who were well-acquainted with him. They believe that Van Gogh would’ve actually done so in a bid to protect the teens, one of whom was dear to him, from being arrested by the police. This actually puts Van Gogh in a totally different and positive light. This simple act highlights the empathetic traits of Van Gogh and gives his death a deeper meaning rather than being deemed as just a ‘reckless act’ of a maniac.

Another act that is believed to lie on this dichotomy his character is judged in the light of, is the rumoured severance of his left ear to be ultimately gifted to a sex worker. But a popular theory suggests that his ear was actually severed by a friend and Van Gogh was just trying to protect him by taking the blame for it. If this theory holds any truth, then we’d know for sure that Van Gogh was not a ‘severely disturbed manic’ but rather just an ‘empathetic sweetheart’.

But what really took place remains a mystery and will remain so forever allowing only room for speculation and no solid answer.
