OLA Experiences
Hi. I’ve been here in reddit for quite some time now. Started joining when I got stressed out by my dues and fortunately got the support I was looking for. From people sharing their experiences, tips on how to handle possible harassment, up to knowing what your rights as a borrower are.
Today, I’d like to share some experiences I have from lenders where I have active accounts and those with overdues.
(1) HOME CREDIT
•LEGAL: Yes. Di naman sila dadami ng ganyan kung di legal. •CHARGES: Isa sa pinakagusto ko when it comes to presenting loan documents kasi detailed ang breakdown ng charges. Medyo mataas ang interest sa iba pero depende na din sa inyo. Naofferan ako ng cash loan after ko makatapos ng 2 product loans. •OVERDUE: Reasonable ang late charges and indicated din sa loan documents. If madedelay ka, inform them in advance and sagutin ang call nila para magawan ng paraan. Pwede rin sila magoffer ng payment holiday (I believe 2x a year for valid reasons). •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Mabait. Maayos kausap. Responsive sa calls at emails. •COLLECTIONS: Di pa naman ako umabot sa field visitation. But my partner previously worked for them as a field collector so I somehow know what their process is. Your account will typically be endorsed for field collection after 3 months of non-payment. Mabait din naman field collectors nila, di ka pipilitin kung wala talaga. But they will encourage you to pay a minimum amount para lang may movement sa account mo. May sarili silang collections team so very rare ang third party collector na manghaharass. •SMALL CLAIMS: Yes, nagfafile sila, usually on big amounts.
(2) MAYA (Maya Loan and Maya Credit)
•LEGAL: Yes. They must be. •CHARGES: For Maya Credit, reasonable naman ang interest rate. Revolving credit din pala ito kaya nga meron naimbento na “paikot system” yung users nila. Pero if kaya mo naman bayaraan ng buo, go for it. All charges are outlined din on their loan documents. Sa Maya Loan naman, medyo mataas pag mas mahaba ang payment terms. Just avail it when you need it and if you can commit to paying it. •OVERDUE: Wala pa akong overdue sa kanila pero based dun sa experience ng friend ko na nadelay ng 1 day, third party collector agad ang tumawag. Medyo may something wrong din sa app nila currently kasi pag nadelay ka sa isang due, itatag agad nila yung next due mo as overdue na din. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Walang matinong customer service si Maya in general. Pahirapan sa calls. Di ko lang sure sa email. •COLLECTIONS: As mentioned, ang account ay endorsed agad sa third party collector (kahit wala pa yang due date). Wala yata silang in-house collections team kaya pinapasa agad sa iba yung paniningil. Medyo di rin maayos yung napipili nilang TPC (based on what I’ve read) kasi yung iba nanghaharass. •SMALL CLAIMS: Si Maya, hindi. Yung third party collector, baka may chance magfile ng case. Pero wala pa naman akong nabasa so far na nakasuhan talaga.
(3) GCASH (GGives and GLoan)
•LEGAL: Yes. •CHARGES: Medyo mataas ang interest in some cases pero reasonable pa din naman. Nakalista din naman ang charges before mo i-avail. Sumusunod sa Truth in Lending Act. •OVERDUE: Di ko pa naranasan magoverdue sa kanila but based on what I’ve read, naeendorse din sa third party collector. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Walang matinong customer service. Yung hotline nila madalas di gumagana o mapakinabangan. Ireredirect ka kay Gigi (chatbot) or gumawa ng ticket sa app. Madalas matagal ang response time. •COLLECTIONS: Since wala pa akong overdue, di ko sure kung pano sila mangcollect. •SMALL CLAIMS: Discretion ng third party collector.
(4) JUANHAND
•LEGAL: Yes. Although nasummon na din to sila ng NPC before. Partner ng Lazada at TikTok. •CHARGES: Minimal charges and outlined din before you avail the loan. Interest rate medyo mataas kasi maikli lang yung terms nila. Wag magpapadala sa advertisement nila on its face value kasi pagkinompute mo yan, halos 50% ang interest na babayaran mo, meaning 150% ang balik sa kanila. •OVERDUE: First few days may automated calls and agent calls. Scripted ang responses so medyo di sila nakikinig sayo pag kausap mo. Yung general customer service, okay naman kausap. May sumasagot agad. Pero yung collections team, medyo patigasan. Pag nagbigay ka ng dahilan, papakinggan lang nila, pero tatanungin ka pa din kung kailan ka magbabayad to the point na magsusuggest pa sila na manghiram ka sa iba para may ipambayad sa kanila. Responsive sa emails. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: General customer service is okay. Collections CS, based on my experience, hindi. •COLLECTIONS: So far, “serious warning” pa lang narereceive ko via email. Not sure if may field collector sila or kung may third party collector. •SMALL CLAIMS: No idea as of the moment.
(5) SHOPEE (SLoan and SPayLater)
•LEGAL: Yes. Dumaadan sa SeaBank yung pera and then through SeaMoney Credit naman bago maging SLoan at SPayLater. •CHARGES: Medyo mataas compared sa iba. Outlined din before you avail. Yung SLoan, may insurance so pwedeng mawaive ang late charge on the first month na madelay ka. Yung SPayLater, 2.5-5% ang late charge per month. •OVERDUE: Sa SPayLater, by default di ka pwede ang partial payments kahit di ka pa overdue. You can try requesting pero bihira sila mag-approve so sisingilin talaga nila ng buo sayo. Sa SLoan naman, pwede mo ma-edit yung amount so pwede ka magpartial payment even before the due date. Pag nadelay ka ng 1 day, matic freeze sa SPayLater mo. Pati SLoan mo ifreeze nila kahit wala kang delay dun. After a few days, ifreeze nila yung shopee coins at vouchers mo. And then later on, yung Shopee account mo na ang frozen. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Yung live agent, wala masyadong magagawa. Hanggang ticket lang yan sila. Yung backoffice support talaga ang magdedecide kung anong mangyayari sa request mo. •COLLECTIONS: Average of 3-6 calls a day. Eto ang experience ko sa SeaMone Credit Collections. Medyo okay kausap pero mag-iinsist sila na unless may ibigay ka na specific date to pay, araw-araw ka nilang tatawagan to remind. Dumating nga sa point na sabi ko sa agent pakibasa na lang yung previous notes sa calls niyo sakin kasi yung lang din naman ang ibibigay kong explanation. •SMALL CLAIMS: Based on what I’ve read, nag-eendorse sila sa third party collector. So far wala pa naman ako dun pero kung umabot man, at least pwede ko itry ihaggle na magkapayment arrangement.
(6) MABILIS CASH
•LEGAL: SEC registered naman. Not sure lang ngayon kasi wala na silang paramdam sakin. •CHARGES: I find their interest rate reasonable. Pati yung late charge. •OVERDUE: Hindi ko ineencourage na gayahin ninyo ako pero almost 3 months na akong overdue. Sa first month, araw-araw ka tatawagan. From an average of 6-10 calls a day, bumaba siya to 2-3 hanggang sa wala ng tumatawag sa akin (napagod na siguro). Nagsesend din sila ng automated SMS reminders before pero after my first month overdue, wala na. Di ko pa din inuuninstall yung app nila so nakikita ko pa din yung pagdagdag ng charges. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Medyo rude ang customer service. Di rin nakikinig sa explanation. Sasabihan ka pa na “hindi po pwera maliit lang yung late charge namin eh okay lang na madela po ang payment.” Nung una nagrereply pa sa email pero after a week wala na. •COLLECTIONS: Based on what I’ve recently read, parang desperado na sila maningil. Di na rin nagpapareloan kahit good payer ka pa. May isa pa ngang nagsasabi na parang mag-iiba na sila ng company para maiwasang ma-raid. •SMALL CLAIMS: Most likely wala kasi illegal na yata sila.
(7) TALA
•LEGAL: Yes. •CHARGES: Reasonable. Okay na din kasi maikli lang naman terms nila. •OVERDUE: Di pa ako nadelay pero based sa mga nabasa ko dito, napapakiusapan naman sila. Pwede ka pa magreloan kahit delayed ka na. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Di ko pa natry pero maayos naman daw kausap. •COLLECTIONS: Di nanghaharass. Period. Pwede mo pa pakiusapan. •SMALL CLAIMS: Wala naman yata. Wala pa akong nabasa na nakasuhan.
(8) MOCASA
•LEGAL: As far as I’ve researched, yes. Everytime na masettle mo ang balance mo, dadagdagan nila ng ₱1k ang available credit mo. •CHARGES: Medyo okay naman pero mas mataas ng bahagya compared sa TALA. •OVERDUE: Di ko pa naexperience pero mukhang madedelay ako this February. Iupdate ko kayo. Pero according sa website nila, 0.1-0.4% ang late charge per day and no other charges daw except for that if madelay ka. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: No experience. •COLLECTIONS: No experience. •SMALL CLAIMS: No idea.
(9) TENDOPAY (By TONIK)
•LEGAL: Yes. Lalo na at banko na ang may-ari sa kanila ngayon. •CHARGES: Acceptable, meaning okay. Di masyadong mataas. •OVERDUE: Walang delay kasi automatic deduction to sa sweldo ko. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Di ko pa natry. •COLLECTIONS: Based on what I’ve read, di sila pumapayag sa payment arrangement so most likely antayin mo na lang maging small claim talaga siya or sila ang mismong mag-offer sayo ng payment arrangement. •SMALL CLAIMS: Yes, nagfafile sila ng small claims case.
(10) TONIK (Cash Loan)
•LEGAL: Yes kasi banko sila. Parang Home Credit din kasi may paproduct loan. •CHARGES: Medyo mataas ng bahagya pero reasonable pa din. Naka-outline din ang charges and fees bago mo i-avail. •OVERDUE: Wala pa naman akong overdue so far. May PayHinga option din sila na if maka4 consecutive payments ka, yung next payment mo pwede mo iskip/imove to the next month. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Sa chat pa lang natry ko and so far okay naman. •COLLECTIONS: No idea. •SMALL CLAIMS: No idea.
(11) SKYRO
•LEGAL: Yes. Usually daw maapprove ka lang sa Cash Loan dito pag may history ka na ng product loan. Pero sinubukan ko pa din mag-apply kahit wala akong history sa kanila. Naapproved naman sa cash loan at ngayon inoofferran na nila ako ng product loan. •CHARGES: Reasonable. •OVERDUE: Wala pa akong overdue so I can’t comment. •CUSTOMER SERVICE: Never tried. •COLLECTIONS: No idea. •SMALL CLAIMS: No idea.
BILLEASE : Declined application CASHALO: Approved pero di ko pa ginagamit. ATOME: Declined application SALMON: Declined application LAZPAYLATER: Approved pero di ko pa ginagamit AEON CREDIT: Applied before pero di ko inavail. UNOBANK: Declined before. Ngayon, di ko na mareprocess application ko. CIMB: Declined application
Wala akong experience sa iba (lalo na yung literal na loan shark. Basta 1 week ang payment term, matic di na ako nag-aapply kasi sila most likely ang illegal at nanghaharass). Again, this is my own experience with some addition of experience ng iba. Feel free to share your own experience sa comment section para naman magka-idea ang iba before they avail the offers.
