What was your parents’ reaction to you seeing a therapist?

I got sworn at, and called all kinds of names. I was told that I was just seeing a therapist for attention, and that I was disgracing the entire family. After she knew that I was seeing a therapist, any time that I said that I was saving for something, or couldn’t afford something, she would say something along the lines of “Well, if you weren’t wasting your money on that quack, you could get it now!”. Although I no longer see a therapist, that money was the best money that I ever spent! I don’t know where I would be right now if I hadn’t.
