Drug testing laws beginning 2024???

Hello so I recently got a job offer but they do a pre employment drug screening. It is not a government job and I am located in San Diego. It’s at a lab processing facility and I heard there’s a new law that prevents employers for testing for thc when you use it outside of work. Should I be worried can I still smoke or should I stop before just in case ?

Also; what would you do in the situation that they still tested for weed and said that I couldn’t be hired due to that?
