Right but the industry is capitalising off of violence towards women, fetishising it. I don’t think so many men would be into it if they didn’t see it all the time in porn, they’ve been taught to enjoy it from a young age. And regardless of that, the fact that women are suffering, all for a man’s (I know the audience is not only men but let’s face it it’s made for men) pleasure surely does not make it feminist?

It really is, I remember being in school and people would talk about it like it was normal and I suppose because of that I forced myself to think it was, but I always thought it was strange really. I hate that while I was so young the people around made me accustomed to the idea of guys wanking to these disgusting videos all the time. They even laughed about it, spoke degradingly of the women making jokes about them being ‘loose’ when they are the ones consuming the content made for their own pleasure. I hate knowing that other young girls are growing up in the same environment, being taught that men find pleasure in their discomfort and they can watch it whenever they feel like it and that’s ‘normal’. And then shame for the very actions they seem to love so much when they’re bored and alone in their rooms.
